What are some holiday events going on near my Tampa apartment?

While Tampa is always busy, Tampa is particularly busy during this time of the year. There are plenty of holiday activities, and there are sure to be plenty near your Tampa apartment. I hope you will find a few events here that you will enjoy during this holiday season.

If you have children, you will not want to miss MOSI's $5 Santa Day on Saturday, December 7. Another great child-friendly event is found at Lowry Park Zoo – you can meet Santa and his real reindeer at their Wild Wonderland. This event occurs multiples nights in December, see their Facebook page (linked) for more information.

Coming up tomorrow, there will be a Craft Festival in Largo. This Festival will include Santa, Christmas Carolers, and holiday lights starting at 6pm. Many vendors will be selling arts and crafts, giving you a great start to your holiday shopping list. There will be raffle tickets for gift cards and other prizes. Tarpon spings will also be having a Craft Festival at the same time. There will be plenty of different vendors, with gifts for just about everyone on your list, and a few to spice up your Tampa apartment.

Each year, Busch Gardens has its Christmas Town celebration. This occurs on certain nights starting tonight from 6-11pm. This includes 15,000 square feet of snow to play in in the middle of Florida! Please note that admission to Christmas Town is completely different from regular admission. Even if you have a season pass, you will still have to buy a separate ticket for this event.

If you are itching to find some true cold in the mild Florida winter, head over to Tampa's Downtown on Ice. $10. 90 minutes. Skate rental included. (Then head home for some hot chocolate and your favorite holiday movie at your Tampa apartment.) It doesn't get much better than that.

On December 1st, there will be a Channukah Extraveganza in St. Pete. This free event starts at 4pm, and will include concessions, crafts, raffles, bungee jumping, a menorah lighting, and a live Jewish band.

On December 6th, Tampa will hold their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. This is more than just a simple ceremony – once there, you can enjoy a Christmas Market, proximity to Downtown on Ice, as well as a movie shown on the lawn. This event is free, but you are asked to bring a teddy bear donation that will go to a child in a hospital.

On December 8th, there will be a Candlelight Walking Tour of different historical homes in St. Pete. This tour shows off beautiful decorations as well as lovely historic homes and their architecture. You can get some great decoration ideas for your apartment in Tampa! Shuttle buses will run from the tour stops, but this tour can be done completely on foot.
