Are there things to do for students in St. Pete?

Apartments in St. Pete are known for their delicate mix of history meets mod. The city's eclectic scene has led many trendsetters to relocate to St. Petersburg creating a collaborative student environment.

St. Pete is known for its local music support, underground art scene, theatres, historic homes and above all warm gulf beaches. If you are looking for apartments in St. Pete near student-centered entertainment, there are several areas to consider. First all, know that this beach city tends to be much large than most college towns. Although there are several schools in Pinellas County, the district lacks a student housing zone. That being said, however, this does not preclude younger and a more collegiate aged from populating the town.

The most popular region tends to be downtown. Downtown St. Pete is a vibrant powerhouse of entertainment, art and history. Here, you will find a number of things to do, which is another reason this precinct attracts many of those enrolled in the local colleges. Just to start, the beach is literally just minutes away from the heart of this entertainment neighborhood. There are a handful of restaurants surrounding town in addition to the dozens of bars, pubs, shops and local boutiques. Moreover, the art scene has become increasingly huge. The beach town celebrates first Friday each month where local shops, bars, and artist display their works. Many residents from surrounding cities come to town for the celebration, often snagging hotels to stay over night.

Music is also another faucet of interest in this community.  Well known venues such a State Theatre and Jannus Live are located in downtown just near the USF and St. Pete College campuses. Many students tend to settle down in this area, finding that St. Pete apartments just above these concert venues make for a very interesting property.  Stop in one of the music halls to check out your favorite artist or just to enjoy a drink.

For those who are more of a sports lover, the Tropicana Field is also located in this region. Home of the Tampa Bay Rays, many living in this area can fully enjoy game days. Favorite watering holes such a Fergs are located just outside of the Stadium, helping tailgators to fully participate in the baseball affairs.

Many collegiates also enjoy spending their off days on the beach. St Pete, unlike Clearwater beach, allows its guests to surf. Additionally, adult beverages are not banned from these bodies of water. There are also Jet ski's for rent, paddle boarding, parasailing, kayaking fishing and more. Many beach bars tend to host local music guests and provide great happy hour deals such as the Post Card Inn.

Downtown St. Pete is a great place to participate in many activities. There are a number of restaurants, theatres, museums and beaches to visit.  Additionally, the city is near Tropicana Field, not too far from the International airport, and is home to several education institutions.
