Tampa is a large city and therefor, full of schools. If you find yourself searching for a private school, there is no shortage of options!
Tampa features many private schools, ranging from academic, to skills/specialty to religious focus. Bowman Academy is a nonsectarian, private preschool. Located in Carrolwood, the school focuses on establishing a strong, academic foundation as well as individual self-respect and self-image. Morning Star is a private school, serving students in grades 1-8. A Catholic school, Morning Star consistently receives high ratings and reviews. Berkley Preparatory School is a coed, independent, college-preparatory school. From Pre-K to 12th grade, students develop skills in arts, athletics and community service. Seeking a private education at a higher level? University of Tampa is a private university, ranked as one of U.S. News & World Report's “America's Best Colleges.” The list of Tampa private schools goes on and on.
Before you begin your school search, you should narrow your choices down by neighborhood. As mentioned before, Tampa is a large area. You don't want to end up applying to a school over an hour away from home. Breaking down your search pool by neighborhood can simplify the process.
Areas such as Downtown Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater are all near the water. Brandon, Lutz and Carrollwood are more inland. Bradenton is further south than the rest of the neighborhoods. If you are not a Tampa resident and plan on moving to the area soon, take a moment to browse through Rent Tampa Bay's Neighborhood information page to learn more about which area matches your lifestyle.
