The City of Plant City is geographically located in the middle of the west coast of Florida, approximately 25 miles east of Tampa, immediately west of Lakeland. Schools Serving Plant City
Plant City has both public and private schools starting from pre-k through high school. All of the public schools are a part of the Hillsborough County public school system. If you are ready for higher learning, Hillsborough Community College has a campus in Plant City.
Shopping in Plant City
One can find many of the many of the chain stores in Plant City such as Target and Walmart. However, you also have the option of shopping locally. In historic Plant City there are several locally owned boutiques, salons, and furniture stores. Antinque shops are scattered throughout the area as well as handmade furniture. Local farmers supply the city with fresh produce and can be found at weekly farmer's markets. This is a shopping experience unlike more commercial areas in Tampa.

Most of the business centers in Plant City are scattered throughout and group together in little plazas. Many residents commute to the more metropolitan areas of Tampa for work.
Traffic and Driving in Plant City
The City is directly served by U.S. Highway 92 and Interstate-Four (I-4) through the City, while State Roads 39, 60, and 574 also provide easy access to the City. As in any neighborhood in Tampa, be wary about the times you travel. While Plant City gets less congested than other areas, rush hour is at the same time everywhere.
