Pete Zimek is the founder and CEO of Gainesville, Florida based Traffic2Revenue, a company whose Internet Listing Service providers (ILSs) in six Florida cities collectively help over 30,000 people per month in their search to find an apartment that meets their lifestyle and budget. He is an expert in both the consultative sales process and search engine optimization.
In 2011, Pete was named Social Media Person of the Year by the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando for his work in highlighting his client's social media ahead of his own.
Prior to entering the digital marketing world, Pete spent over a decade developing and implementing print advertising campaigns for over 400 local and national businesses. He worked with products ranging from a traditional apartment guide and visitor publication to a tabloid entertainment magazine and a business journal.
In a prior life, in spite of the fact that he is actually allergic to milk, Pete spent five years as a Ben & Jerry's scoop shop owner. During his time as a franchisee, he didn't eat any ice cream, but he did manage to be awarded the Ben & Jerry's National Marketer of the Year award in 2006. He went on to serve for three years on their Franchise Advisory Council where he was a member of the company's franchise marketing, strategic vision, and executive committees. In 2009, Pete used proceeds from the sale of one of his scoop shops as seed money for what would become the iLS network's technology platform.
Pete's community involvement extends throughout the state of Florida. In 2011, he was elected Class President of the inaugural class of the Connect Florida Statewide Leadership Institute, Leadership Florida's program for young professionals. In the same year, he was named one of Gainesville, Florida's 40 under 40 by Home Magazine. He currently sits on the board of the North Central Florida Apartment Association, is an active member of the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando's education committee, and is the Past President of the Leadership Gainesville Alumni Association.
Pete has had the honor of giving marketing presentations to a number of groups including the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, the UF Center for Entrepreneurship, the UF College of Journalism, the Women's Council of REALTORS, the North Central Florida Apartment Association, and the Ben & Jerry's Global Franchise Community Gathering.
