South Tampa is one of the more popular neighborhoods in Tampa and is less than a fifteen minute drive to the airport, downtown and beaches.  Depending on where you decide to live in the Soho district, Tampa apartments tend to be eluded in grassy areas and long sidewalks built for running. This area of the city does consists more of older and vintage charmed homes, however, it is home to the city's largest sidewalk, bayshore. Many Tampa residents and their pets stride along throughout Bayshore night and day. The sidewalk offers great views of downtown Tampa along a waterfront pathway.  The downside of living in this area is that South Tampa is pretty pricey when it comes to renting. In addition to plenty of jogging areas, South Tampa is filled with restaurants, bars and shopping. Many college graduates and business professionals have seemingly taken up space in this neighborhood and the demand to live in Soho has not decreased.

Davis Island is very similar to Tampa in regard to its atmosphere and pricing. Although this neighborhood is only a five minute drive from downtown, Davis Island seems to be more secluded and quiet. There is a huge park space in the center of the neighborhood and great views of the incoming yachts and boats in the area. The neighborhood also includes one of a kind restaurants and shops which gives it a small town feel. Many homeowners and renters in the area own dogs and you will normally seem them all outside enjoying the Florida weather.

Ybor and the Channelside district have similarities to both Davis Island and Soho in that they are surrounded by entertainment, however, these buildings are much newer and modernized. Ybor does not have as many areas to walk your dog and some even question doing so throughout the late evening when the socialites take over. There are, however, several bars in the area that are pet friendly, often having "yappy hour" where you can take your dog out to eat and drink with you.

North Tampa is a very family friendly neighborhood with plenty of recreational park space, golf courses, sidewalks and a few dog parks. There are several dog grooming boutiques in the area. This area is further away from the beach and downtown, however, the home are very affordable. North Tampa is built on a major roadway allowing easy access for commutes. It is also placed in the middle of convenience and entertainment. Whole Foods, Publix, several gyms, bars and fine dinning surround Tampa apartments in the area.  Many townhomes and communities offer fenced in backyards or even have dog parks on their premises.
